Travel Assistance Program
As an enrollee in The New School’s Basic Life Insurance plan provided by The Standard Life Insurance Company of New York, you, your spouse or domestic partner, and/or dependent child(ren) are eligible for the FrontierMEDEX Travel Assistance Program. This program provides free, travel-related assistance when traveling more than 100 miles from home or internationally for up to 180 days. The services available through the program include:
Pre-trip assistance: passport, visa, weather and currency exchange information
Medical assistance services: locating medical care providers and interpreter services.
Travel assistance services: emergency ticket, credit card, passport replacement services
Legal Assistance: locating an attorney or consular officer
Emergency transportation services: arranging/paying for evacuation to a nearby medical facility, and medically-necessary repatriation to the employee’s home
Personal security services: evacuation services in case of weather, health, environmental, or political/social situations
Once you are covered by the Basic Life Insurance Plan you and your eligible dependents will automatically be eligible for the benefits provided by this program. No separate enrollment is necessary.
