How to Print Wirelessly (Win)

Settings
If the software firewall (ipfw) on the computer is active, the following ports must be opened for TCP
traffic for Popup to work:
1. 515
2. 28203
Initiate Print
Open your file and initiate the print process. This may vary based upon your choice of application. Academic Technology recommends all printing through Adobe Acrobat. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat on your laptop, you may download Adobe Reader for free and use for your wireless printing output. File > Print.
Choose Printer Type

In the print setup window select the desired printer queue. All printer queues are accompanied with the prefix TNS (The New School) to help you differentiate from other printers you may have installed on your laptop. Printer Queue names will indicate a printer format.
1. B&W (for black and white printing on recycled paper)
2. Color (for regular color printing on recycled paper)
3. ProColor (for high quality color printing)
4. Plotter (for draft quality large format printing)
  All printer queues are additionally accompanied with the Wireless suffix. Choose the printer format suited to your printing needs and click Print.
Authenticate Account Login
You will then be prompted to authenticate the associated print point debit by entering you NetID and password in the Pharos Popup Window.
Select a Specific Printer

You will then be prompted to select the location of a specific printer which meets your printing needs. Please note that printers are identified by the following:
1. Building code (capital letter)
2. Room number (room number)
3. Printer format (type)
4. ID number (certain locations may have multiple printers of the same type)
  Be sure you are sending to a printer at a nearby location. If you are unsure, consult with our staff who will help direct you to an appropriate printer.
  
  Click OK and you will receive confirmation of your print submission.
Confirm Cost
You will be notified of your balance and job cost. If you choose to accept the cost, click Yes. Your file will then print on the selected printer.
Pick Up Print
You will be notified of your print submission.
