Making Calls

To call another university telephone simply dial the four digit extension of the person with whom you wish to communicate. 

To place an external domestic call dial 9+1, then enter the area code and seven digit number.

Using the Voice Activated Directory

To access the Voice Activated directory, call x7007 (or externally, call 212-229-7007). Say the name of the person you want to speak to and the system transfers your call to the requested party.  

Setting Up a Conference Call on a Mitel Phone

To form a conference on a Mitel phone, call when a two-party call is already in place, or to add another party to an existing conference call:

  1. Press TRANS/CONF
  2. Dial the number of the next party
  3. Wait for an answer
  4. Press TRANS/CONF

To form a Conference on a Mitel phone for up to six parties:

  1. Press TRANS/CONF
  2. Dial the number of the next party
  3. Wait for an answer
  4. Press TRANS/CONF
  5. Repeat the above procedure until all parties are on line

Placing an International Call

You need to have a Restricted Account PIN Code to place international calls. Submit a Service Order Request Form to get a Restricted Account PIN.

To make an international call using your Restricted Account PIN

  1. Lift handset
  2. Dial * * 3
  3. Enter your PIN number*
  4. When dial tone returns dial 9 + your number
