Conversation Groups

Is English not your first language? Do you wish you had a comfortable place where you could practice what you know and learn new vocabulary and expressions? The Learning Center holds weekly ESL conversation groups (PDF) every Thursday at 4:00 p.m., starting June 20. The sessions offer interactive discussions and activities designed to expand your English speaking and listening skills. The groups are informal and drop-in, so there's no need to sign up in advance. So come chat, meet new people, and have fun!

Speech Services

ESL specialists are available to tutor you one-on-one to help you improve your English speaking skills. You can work on any area that you think needs improvement: daily conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary and slang, presentation, or class participation. Just tell your tutor what you would like to work on. Please indicate your interest in this kind of session by entering "speech" when you make your appointment. Speech appointments are limited to the standard length of one hour and cannot be extended to two hours.
