About the Chorus
Open to the entire New School and greater New York City community, The New School Chorus is an exciting new ensemble that embraces a wide range of music and singing styles, from Western choral masterpieces to American jazz and popular song to traditional music from across the globe. The rehearsal experience will integrate written works and music learned by ear in a fun and educational approach that explores the myriad sonic possibilities of the human voice.
The chorus will perform and engage in community outreach throughout the year. The ensemble will be led by two members of the groundbreaking vocal octet, Roomful of Teeth: conductor, vocalist, pianist, and composer Eric Dudley, and violinist, vocalist, and composer Caroline Shaw (the 2012 Pulitzer Prize winner in Music for her piece Partita for 8 Voices, written for Roomful of Teeth).

The chorus is open to all New School students, alumni, faculty, staff, administration, and the community at large. No audition is required. See below for registration details.
Current New School Students, Faculty, Staff, Administration
Register for 0 or 1 credits (XPER 1500A, CRN 8101) using your school or division's registration process (through MyNewSchool or with your advisor). Graduate students should register for 0 credit.
Alumni and Community Members (non-credit)
Register now at tnschorusfall2013.eventbrite.com. There is a $25/semester participation fee for alumni and community members.
