Visit Us on Campus
Information Sessions
Meet members of the faculty and admission staff of our graduate school programs. Get answers to all your questions, including ones about admission and degree requirements, financial aid, and career services. Recommended for prospective students who have not yet applied. See the schedule and sign up for a Graduate School Information Session.
Student-Led Tours
Hour-long walking tours of the New School campus in Greenwich Village are led by current graduate students after a brief orientation by admission counselors. Tours are held Monday through Friday at noon. Advance reservations are encouraged but not required. We recommend the tour to all prospective students, whatever your application status.
Individual Admission Counseling
Prospective graduate students are strongly encouraged to meet one-on-one with an admission counselor, whether before or after submitting an application. Some programs require a personal interview as part of the admission process. Call 212.229.5150 or email GradAdmission@newschool.edu to schedule an appointment, or drop in during our open advising hours.
- One-on-one appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., except when the university is closed for holidays or recesses.
- Walk-in advising hours are Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
You must call or email in advance if you wish to visit the Office of Admission at other times or if you expect to meet with a specific counselor.
Visit a Class in Session
We're proud of our distinguished faculty and exceptional students. Experience a class for yourself by sitting in on a graduate seminar session. Class visits are available in the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy and the School of Media Studies. Only one visitor is permitted in any class, so it is important to sign up early. Class visits will resume in September 2013. Check back here for further updates.
Meet Us Where You Are
If you can't come to The New School, we can come to you.
