International Education Week
(IEW) November 18–22, 2013
International Student Services participates in IEW, an initiative developed by the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote programs that will prepare Americans for leadership in the global economy and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and share their experiences in the United States.
For more information or to volunteer to help during the week, email IEW@newschool.edu or continue checking this page for 2013 events.
IEW Photo Contest
At The New School, the most popular IEW event is the photo contest. The theme of the contest is travel in the United States and abroad. Students, faculty, and staff submit photos of people, places, and things relating to the theme of world travel. During IEW, students vote for their favorite pictures online and at ballot boxes set up on campus. At the end of the week, there is an awards ceremony to honor the favorites and showcase all the photos submitted to the contest.
