  • Welcome Weekend for Freshmen and Their Parents

Welcome Weekend is a special orientation for recent high school graduates and other incoming students with little or no college experience.

If you have a room in a New School residence hall you can move in during Welcome Weekend. There is also a program for parents during Welcome Weekend. Information sessions give you an overview of the resources and services available at The New School, and a variety of special events introduce you to New York, one of the most exciting and creative cities in the world. Welcome Weekend is about making connections with the university, other students, and New York City.

Please note: Parsons AAS students and ESL + Design students (who are not entering their degree program in August 2013) should not attend Welcome Weekend for Freshmen. Please refer to the New Student Orientation schedule for complete information.

All new students are expected to attend New Student Orientation (August 19-25, 2013).
