Summer Intensive Studies: Paris

The Summer Intensive Program: Paris is open to anyone 16 years of age or older who wishes to study art and design in a rigorous academic environment. Register for courses now.

Paris Housing Option: Pre-College and College/Adult Three-Week Program

As a convenience for students enrolled in Summer Intensive Studies, Parsons has reserved rooms at a three-star hotel located a short subway ride from the school. All student rooms are double occupancy with private bathrooms. The reservation includes continental breakfast every morning.

A 24-hour Parsons residence staff will supervise and support evening and weekend group activities, provide help with language and transportation, and be on hand for emergency assistance. House rules restrict overnight guests, late-night noise, and phone calls after 10:00 p.m. Students ages 16 to 18 years old must abide by a curfew. Phone and Internet service is available from the hotel for an extra fee. Neighborhood laundry facilities located nearby are recommended, as the hotel's laundry service is expensive.

There is no university meal plan in Paris. Daily continental breakfast is the only meal provided as part of the Parsons Paris housing accommodation. Students will receive a list of nearby supermarkets, inexpensive restaurants, and cafes. You should estimate your food expenses at $45 to $50 a day.

For other questions about housing only, email summer@newschool.edu.

Reserving a Room

Housing assignments are made in the order in which applications are received, so apply early to avoid being closed out.

Approximately two weeks after you register for the three-week Paris program, you will be emailed a link to the online housing application. If you apply for housing application, you must pay in advance the full housing fee for the program.

Space is limited, and housing applications are processed in the order in which they are received. When your application and payment have been processed, you will receive a housing contract confirming your reservation.

Note: The course Registration Form and the Housing Application are returned to separate offices with separate payments.
