First time Applicants at The New School

  • Contact the VA Certifying Officer in the Registrar’s Office and make arrangements to provide a copy of your certificate of eligibility or discharge papers (DD 214).
  • If you drop a course after registering for it and this schedule adjustment changes your training time and total credits, you must notify the VA Certifying Officer so this can be reported to the Veterans Administration as required.

Students Who Have Received VA Benefits previously at The New School

  • The New School automatically certifies your enrollment to the VA when you have registered. If you do not wish to use your GI Bill benefits, please notify the VA Certifying Officer in the Registrar’s Office before you register.
  • If you drop a course after registering and this schedule adjustment changes your training time and total credits, you must notify the VA Certifying Officer so this can be reported to the VA as required.
