We have been having some trouble this year with our server (at one point, it was hijacked by hackers!), so some of you have probably experienced some difficulties in accessing the site. E-mail access has also been a bit spotty, so we apologize to anybody whom we have not replied to.
Things are back to normal now and hopefully there will be fewer problems in the future. We are looking around for a more stable solution, which means spending some $ which we do not have. If you would like to make a donation to help keep this site alive and running smoothly, please, please do so.
The search engine should be up and running now. If you experience any difficulties, please let us know.
We have compiled a separate list of all the electronic texts that are located on our server. Some of the new texts include the following:
Thanks are due to Prof. Frederic Lee (of University of Missouri - Kansas City) for providing the electronic format of Piero Sraffa's "On the Relations Between Costs and Quantities Produced", (1925, Annali di Economia)
We have scoured the Gallica website (http://gallica.bnf.fr/) of the Bibliothèque nationale de France for individual articles of interest that were buried deep in other publications and journals and thus rather difficult to find and retrieve. We have extracted some of these and mirrored them separately here for easier accessibility. These includes some of the ones already mentioned above (e.g. Edgeworth's Papers and Bertrand's review) as well as the following classics: Thomas de Quincey's "Measure of Value", "Malthusian Population Doctrine" and "Services of Mr. Ricardo", all from the London Magazine (1823-4), Auguste Walras's "Considérations sur la mesure de la valeur, Part 1, Part 2" (1836, Rev Mensuelle EP), Augustin Cournot's "Mémoire sur les applications du calcul des chances" (1838, JMathPA) and Vilfredo Pareto's "L'Italie économique" (1891, Rev Deux-Mondes). Numerous minor notices and reviews of classic texts have also been extracted from Gallica and mirrored here. See the list of all the electronic texts for more details.

Also, we have set up a page on the "Negro Question" Debate between Thomas Carlyle and John Stuart Mill. The following texts are included:
Thomas Carlyle (1849) "Occasional Discourse on the Negro Question", Fraser's Magazine
Also: we have spent a good while trying to obtain permission for the borrowed images for this website. With a few exceptions, the response was excellent. Our deepest thanks to all of those who graciously granted it. They are noted on our references page.

Well, we're back up at long last!
As you might notice, we are now at a new server at the New School. We will be here for a while, so please bookmark this site.
Apparently, in the interim of our transfer here, there were a few mirror sites that popped up elsewhere based on our old site. Those sites are not connected with us. This is the new site.
Thank you for all your encouraging e-mails. We have been a bit time-constrained lately, so we apologize for not having answered them all.
You will notice some changes. First of all, the facelift. We hope this site is a bit better-looking than the last. Secondly, you will find that some of the content has changed. We have done a few corrections, but all that is still very much delayed. There are also still many pages being processed and these will be up in due course.
Naturally, we are always looking for comments and contributions, so please do not hesitate to contact us at het@cepa.newschool.edu
We'll be putting up a search engine and a guest forum soon, so please check us out again. Please do not forget to read the disclaimer. Click here for introduction.
Cheers!

P.S. - This new server is "case-sensitive". We have attempted to change the URLs of all the pages into small letters. If, for some reason, a link does not seem to work, check if it accidentally retained capital letters somewhere in the URL. To fix it, just input it in again in the browser address window and change all the capital letters into small letters.
